The fine furniture maker is often portrayed as a romantic solitary genius - toiling away by themselves in a dusty studio. But in a successful craft practice it is rarely really like that. Our studio is a busy creative place with many people coming and going, working here as designers and makers, as students and interns, researchers and writers, visitors, musicians and supporters. Ross Annels
Tamsin Kerr my partner in life and in creative endeavours, an intellectual powerhouse
Pajda Perina designer, maker, sculptor and digital-man
Anika Annels, my wonderfully creative daughter.
Rex Kalehof, designer and sculptor from New York, on a studio residency.
Mark Heslop, designer maker, who helps make much of the work leaving the studio.
Scott Pilkington, our current studio intern, and emerging designer maker.
Jen Loy design researcher
Boris Grigull, a previous worker in the studio.
Marcus Nelles, worked in the studio when he first came to Australia from Germany. He is now working with Tony Kenway.
Nikolai Hark, the latest in a line of WWOOFers (willing workers on organic farms). We think that we should start a new scheme - WWIFFS, willing workers in fine furniture studios!
