Place One Chair

Place 1

A sculptural chair investigating the specifics of location using the idea of landscape memoir.

The tall upright elements of the chair represent the rainforest that anecdotally previously covered the location from which I work, and the embroidered stitching in the upholstery fabric is a representation of the topography and geography of this place ~ a map of sorts. The chair is shaped from Queensland Blackbean, copper and machine embroided macrosuede upholstery.
